Board of Directors Meeting
January 19, 2011
Present: Isaac Bohrer, Brenda Hutchinson, Andy Jurick, Linda Kjeldgaard, George McVey, Jayne Meadows, Barbara Norton, Mary Liz Phillips, Marti Sikes, Grant Wheeler, Paul Zorich, and Joel Tuttle, Executive Director.
Excused Absence: Denise Bergen, Larry Barney and William Makinson
Call to order: Having a quorum present, Ike Bohrer, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 1 pm.
Introduction of new Board Member Linda Kjeldgaard
Approval of minutes
Marti moved the minutes of the November 10, 2010 meeting be approved. Mary Liz seconded the motion and it carried.
Executive Director’s Report – Joel Tuttle
Jerry McGraw obtained our Workman’s Comp insurance. It came in lower that expected.
Joel will go to Charleston January 25 to pick up the new van.
Mary Liz moved that we allow Joel to take the SPHR certification test and we will pay $375 for the test. Marti seconded the motion and it carried.
The Almost Home Adult Day Services began January 14th. Jean Brown will be at a later meeting to give us an overview of the program. Joel passed out the flyers for the program.
Andy moved we accept the Director’s report. Paul seconded the motion and it carried.
Committee Reports:
Executive Committee: No report
Finance Committee: No report
Personnel Committee: Jayne reported Joel’s evaluation was completed and he was given a raise. The next meeting with Joel and the committee will be Feb 2.
Bylaws Committee: No Repor
Building Committee: Brenda reported she had nothing new on the funding from Shelley Capito’s money. It is being classified as a new ear mark. Paul suggested we start with some plans for the new building and put up a sign at the location saying this is the site of future Senior Citizen building

Being no further business before the board, Ike adjourned the meeting.
The next meeting will be February 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Berkeley Springs Center.
